Welcome to Tahfiz (“we”, “our”, “us”). Tahfiz is an Islamic-themed learning application designed to help users learn about Islam and the Qur'an through various interactive features. This Privacy Policy outlines how we handle your information when you use our app.

2.1 Personal Information
Location Data: Tahfiz requests access to your device's location to provide accurate prayer times. This information is processed locally on your device and is not sent to our servers or shared with any third parties.
2.2 Device Permissions
To offer certain functionalities, Tahfiz requires the following permissions:
- Internet Access: Required for app functionality, including loading current legal or subscription configuration and verifying Tahfiz Pro subscriptions. Your local practice, prayer, game, and location data is not transmitted to us for these checks.
- Camera and Microphone: Used exclusively for the game features that allow recording and sharing videos within the app.
- Storage Access: Allows the app to save recordings and other media to your device.
- Notifications: Ensures the app can notify you of prayer times and maintain necessary operations.
2.3 Subscription Information
Tahfiz Pro is available as monthly and yearly subscriptions. An active Tahfiz Pro subscription enables access to the Workshop Trail and Performance tabs within the Qur'an Quiz section of the app.
If you subscribe to Tahfiz Pro or restore a purchase, subscription purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect or store your payment card details. To verify access, Tahfiz may process subscription-related information such as your App Store receipt data, product identifier, subscription status, purchase date, expiry date, transaction identifier, and original transaction identifier. Subscription related data is never retained for more than 14-days.
3. How We Use Your Information
- Prayer Times Localisation: Your location data is used solely to provide accurate prayer times based on your current location.
- App Functionality: Permissions granted are used to enhance user experience within the app's features, such as recording games and saving media.
- Subscription Verification: Subscription receipt data is used only to confirm whether your Tahfiz Pro access is active and to restore your access where applicable.
4. Subscriptions and Purchase Verification
Tahfiz sends App Store receipt data to our subscription validation service at api.tahfiz.app so that we can confirm whether your Tahfiz Pro subscription is active. Subscription status, product ID, purchase date, expiry date, and last verification date may be stored locally on your device. Transaction identifiers may be stored in secure device storage to support purchase restoration and validation.
Apple processes App Store purchases, renewals, cancellations, refunds, and payment information under Apple's own terms and privacy policy. You can manage or cancel Tahfiz Pro through your App Store account settings.
5. Data Sharing and Disclosure
- No Sale of Personal Information: We do not sell your personal information.
- Limited Subscription Processing: Subscription purchases are processed by Apple, and receipt data is sent to our subscription validation service only to confirm Tahfiz Pro access.
- No Advertising or Analytics Data Sharing: Tahfiz does not integrate with third-party advertising or analytics SDKs that collect user data.
6. Data Security
- Local Storage: Personal app data, including location, prayer settings, quiz performance, Workshop Trail progress, and game recordings, is stored locally on your device.
- Subscription Storage: Subscription status and related dates may be stored locally on your device, and transaction identifiers may be stored in secure device storage.
- Limited Data Transmission: App Store receipt data is transmitted only as needed to verify Tahfiz Pro access. Local Qur'an Quiz, Workshop Trail, prayer, game, and location data is not sent as part of subscription verification.
7. User Rights
Data Access and Deletion: Users can access and delete any data stored within the app, such as quiz performance, directly through the app's settings.
Subscription Management: You can manage or cancel Tahfiz Pro through your App Store account settings. Deleting local app data does not cancel an active App Store subscription.
8. Children’s Privacy
Tahfiz is intended for users of all ages. While the app includes content relevant to various life stages, it does not specifically target or collect information from children under the age of 13.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted within the app, and the “Last Updated” date at the top will be revised accordingly.
